You move along...
To paraphrase my roommates - "Ten thousand things!"

That's what it feels like when I look at all the things I have to do, and all the things I want to do, and wonder how it's going to get done. Not everything is bad, not everything is good, but isn't that life? Breaking it into chunks:


I have work projects to catch up on, some of them having slid schedule through no fault of my own, but I'm responsible for them nonetheless and need to understand what's gone wrong, what we can do about it, and what the new timeline looks like so I can bring that all to management. Urgh.

Other things are going right, but I'm letting too much slide through the cracks. I need to buckle down with some serious overtime. The bottom line is that I feel like I'm stretched too thin, so I will have to push some other things off my plate, because work CANNOT come 4th or fifth on the list.


I still need to type up the meeting minutes from the last Corporate Roundtable session - this is supreme laziness on my part and needs to be done today, along with sending out the reminder that this month's meeting has been pushed BACK a week because of the Out & Equal conference.

Speaking of which. Gods, I'm insane.... Out & Equal is an annual conference held to discuss LGBT (GLBT) issues and addresses the reasons why corporations shouldn't allow discrimination based on sexual orientation. It drew more than 1700 participants last year. Well, somehow I sort of maybe let myself be arm twisted into agreeing not only to go (and volunteer to help) but also to actually get up in front of a panel this coming Saturday to discuss how the differences between the generations impacts communication within the corporate culture. Jeezuz. What was I thinking?? So I'm more than a little nervous about that. So I'll be on a flight to the conference in Austin this Wednesday morning, coming home on Sunday morning. Note to self... leave flights and time on calendar, kthx. I'll try and tell you all about it in LJ, time permitting.

Lastly, of course is all the stuff that falls in the cracks...
July and the beginning of August was a month-long+ battle with bronchitis, over which I eventually prevailed. However, as a result, I've gotten out of the habit of going to the gym and exercising. Serious, serious bummer there. I really enjoyed it, even if it DID seriously screw up the evening schedule. And I think I need it, honestly, to keep my stress levels down. My other health issues are minor (but important), and I need to put some thinking back into watching my weight. Being lazy about it is nice, and indulgent, but I don't need this extra weight slowing me down. If my friend 360high can manage to keep discipline as well as she has, I should try harder, too.

Coming up next month - my anniversary with mewsgryphoncat! ♥♥♥!!! This is never, ever second priority. She is now, and will be for the rest of my life, the most important thing to me. I've even scheduled a week in the Poconos this late fall, at a nice resort. There's room for up to 6 people, but most of all is the desire to get away from it all with her, and go for long walks, and longer talks. Maybe do some fishing together. She is the center of my orbit, I know that, and after twenty-seven years I wouldn't have it any other way. (Another reason for getting healthier!)
